Streaming audio: the ups and downs of Streaming Audio
Streaming media technology is used to simultaneously receive multimedia clips delivered by the supplier and the displays on the user side, at the same time. Streaming media is transmitted on the Internet in the form of sound (audio) or with the use of video data packets. To access streaming media on the Internet, you should have a broadband connection to get a better reception.
Audio streaming is a type of streaming multimedia using audio or audio signals to transmit the message as it arrives. In contrast with streaming audio, sound recording is an alternative way to transmit audio files, as it does not start if the file is completely received. This is one of the advantages of streaming audio from audio recording. The users need not wait for the whole file to arrive for streaming audio, although it may require a plug-ins such as Real Audio or Shockwave player to start playback.
Many websites contain live or on-demand audio feeds. On demand streams are stored online on the server itself and is readily available when requested by the user, while the live streams are only accessible at a particular time as a news. But then again, there was a lot of social and legal issues surrounding the use of streaming audio on web sites. This not only affects the audio stream, but also streaming video. The reason for this is that the quality of support is impaired. In addition, anyone can create and send video and audio streams, resulting legal battle copyrights, patents and licensing agreements....
