Create your website Search Engine Friendly - Part 2

Linking site

Another very important area of search engine optimization is called "anchor text optimization." Using the right words on your links will help improve the relevance of your pages and those are the references. Since a text link typically follows a descriptive text about what you can expect to find is a good candidate for optimization. Avoid using descriptive words like "click here" for the link. There's nothing wrong with that, functionally speaking, but you are missing out on the opportunity to increase page relevance. why not enter a keyword in the anchor text in the resulting page.

For example: "how to tune your carb cycling" is better than having it this way: Learn how to tune the carburetor motorcycle. "Click here"

"Click Here" link. Then if the resulting page are the keywords that match those in your link it will help to ensure relevance.

When others link to you that it's better when you connect with your keywords in the link text, rather than something less descriptive. Another good practice could be done to improve the relevance is to have a link anchor text display your current location. So if the user is on "articles flash / flash animation how to make a" you could do this:

YOU ARE HERE: flash articles> how to make a flash animation

If you create hyperlinks path so every link would effectively be a keyword of the resulting page. You have just added another link that may work for you.Try and maintaining links to other pages in your site up to 3 levels deep. The easier it is for your visitors to get to the page you want, the better your experience will be. I believe that this benefits the spiders crawl your site. Ensure that each page is indexed by Google.

If you must use flash animated links to your site. (I would advise against it) the more reason, try not to use flash animated links for your site The main engine spiders do not understand navigation.Search flash, so you do not follow these links. One solution would be to put some links in text at the bottom of the webpage. This is an alternative route that will allow the spiders to get to other pages of your website.

The Google tools

Google has a great tool, called Tools for Webmasters. Does not cost you anything and will give you good feedback for pages that Google's spiders had trouble crawling. Also you can submit a sitemap to Google, which also helps search engine spiders navigate your site.

There is a tool that allows you to check if Googlebot has visited your site. When you log into Google Webmaster Tools section (registration required for this, but its free) Click on "Site Status" link. Please enter your full URL in the resulting page and you'll get some interesting information about the last time I tried the bot on your site and also what the status was. You will also see if your site has been indexed by Google.

Also take the time to check. When you do this there are numerous other options for you to see statistics on your web pages and more. As verified is as simple as adding a meta tag or upload an html page on your site.Google then in real time whether the file was uploaded by you, so verify your authenticity.

There are many other interesting tools that you can use in order to fully explore. Statistics including the top search queries, crawl stats and page rank are all of value you should make full use of.

How fast does your website load?

A fast loading page is great for user experience. I sometimes have to remind myself that not everyone has high speed internet connection. We hope that in future this will be true. You still need to explain to people coming to your website through a dial-up.

Dial-up is very sloooow. I remember when I used a dial-up in South Africa, where you pay per minute to be connected to the Internet, the more you pay a monthly ISP. (Sad but true) I could not afford to wait too long for the slow loading sites because time was of the essence.

I would like to believe that the search engines to track your site loads as Google includes this as a tool in their webmaster tools. This may mean that this could influence the positioning in search engine results. You can actually see how fast it loads the website and try to change it within the optimal range.

Another topic of discussion is what kind of structure your layout using HTML.

Some say to use tables for layout of their pages, and that does not affect the page load speed. I would agree. All my sites using XHTML and CSS for the layout of the html document only.Besides messier and more difficult to maintain the structure of the site, a table-less design makes it lighter weight of the page. Lighter means faster load times and better user experience.

The use of too many non-optimized images can also affect the overall size of the webpage. Size is the main thing that affects the load time.

A Photoshop image ready image has good optimization specifically for the web. In order to take all the web images and have a closer look at how you can optimize. Most times you can cut the file size without really altering the image much. Also know when to use which image format. (But that's another issue altogether) There are too many factors that can still influence this SEO article, however, the few steps I explained here will put you on track to have a site search engine friendly which can make positioning and usability.

I hope this article was useful to you.
