Security Issues on eBay
Here are some tips on how to protect your safety as eBay:
1. You may think you have chosen the perfect password, but not be too hasty in congratulating you. Make sure no one behind him to see what keys are pressed. Do not write on a sticky note attached to the computer, in your notebook, or a piece of paper, no matter how far you push it in a drawer.
2. Do not be hard on yourself if you run into trouble and loses 100% positive feedback. Even the best-rated sellers get some negative feedback from time to time. As long as it keeps these to a minimum, you should be able to keep the feedback score of greater than 95%, a figure which is still very respectable.
3. eBay is a do-it-yourself kind of place, all right, but this does not mean you have to take care of all problems by yourself. The Security & Resolution Center on eBay is the place to go when you run into a buyer who will not pay for an item purchased, or if there is another problem with a transaction.
4. Identity theft is a very real problem for eBay. Hackers and criminals will do anything to get your hands on your credit card or your user ID and password. Never respond to emails received telling you your security has been compromised, or ask to verify account information. eBay sends you an e-mail to ask questions.
5. "Spoof" websites - sites that pretend to be eBay and trying to get to present their personal and financial information fraudulently - are among the biggest security risk on eBay. The eBay Toolbar has a feature called Account Guard warns you when you are viewing a site that is potentially fraudulent. Download the toolbar and try it.
Always check that online security is protected so that you continue to have a happy shopping experience in sales and on eBay!...
