Transitions in Nursing Pharmaceutical Sales - Medical Sales Jobs For Nurses
If you are a nurse making a career change into pharmaceutical sales or medical sales, there will be some transitions that you have to go through before settling in his new job. Fortunately, the part of medical science of pharmaceutical sales will be much easier for you since you already know the anatomy and physiology necessary. Any pharmacology and specific product knowledge will be covered in the training program for your company.
The actual selling skills will be new to you, but assuming that they were hired because of your excellent communication skills in addition to clinical knowledge, learning to sell should not be too much of a problem as your training program also teach how to effectively sell pharmaceuticals, the new company.
The other changes you must make career transition include wardrobe. Rather than wear typical clothing care, you may need to update your wardrobe to include a good supply of business attire. This may require an investment on your part.
You will have to adapt to drive all day to find addresses of medical studies. Night sailing can also be part of your territory. So instead of being locked into a single job, as in a hospital all day, you should be on the road no matter what the weather conditions in your area.
You will be working on their own account for 95% of your time without the company of all people. There will also be creating most of their program from week to week. This is because there is so much independence involved in pharmaceutical sales, but you should be able to motivate yourself to be productive for themselves.
These days, most of the administrative work required in pharmaceutical sales will probably be done on a computer so you have to get used to using more technology, if not already doing it yourself.
Finally, as every physician experienced sales representative will tell you, you must be ready to take waste from customers and their staff since not everybody out there is attentive to your company's products. This is just reality in the world of sales. This is where your aptitude for sales is as it should be able to work with potentially difficult customers.
But once you're able to make a successful transition from care to medical sales or pharmaceutical sales, you can finally say goodbye to lifting patients, cleaning bedpans and doing night shifts .......
