Why I will not use AdSense on a New Blog
A little over a year since I started this blog and in the first few months I've been using Adsense to earn some money. The results I got with adsense were rather scarce. Now, from the perspective that gives the time, I can not help but wonder what results would be obtained if, instead of Adsense, would have done something completely different.
In this article I will talk about why I will never use Adsense on a new blog. I hope at least some of you pay any attention.
Why Adsense is so appealing?
To begin, I must admit that Adsense is very attractive to many people. It is easy to use, simply register, create an account, write a few articles and start receiving profits every month in your account. Certainly seductive. I will never forget the feeling I had when I won my first dollar, or my $ 10 ... It was like following a drug. Constantly controlling my stats to see how many clicks were achieved in the last 10 minutes.
But while all this was happening I was losing money. For every click Adsense getting into earning between 10 cents and $ 1, representing losses to my blog. Hopefully, in that time I had realized that there are much better ways to make money with a blog. Ways that may not be as attractive in the short term, but provide greater long-term outcome.
Why never use Adsense on a new blog?
Then I will give reasons why I made the decision not to use Adsense on my blogs from now. If someone disagrees with me, or has made a similar decision, I would like to know.
1. Each click represents a lost reader The main reason for a blog are the readers. Create content with the intention of getting people's attention, social media and Google, but then send them out of your blog by encouraging them to click on Adsense ads. This is really puzzling. I see hundreds of articles about how to increase Adsense CTR and get more clicks, but no one talks about the act of sending off your blog to those visitors who worked so hard to get, is a very bad idea.
2. It dilutes the brand value when you put an ad on your site are going through, somehow, that brand equity. For example, if I put an ad spam software in the sponsors section of my blog means that I support that brand. As the brand name 'Fernando Amaro.com' is associated with the mark of spam
Adsense is not easy because you have complete control over what is advertised. It can be done using a blacklist to exclude certain URLs, but it would take a lot of time making sure that all marks displayed on your site are good. I know the owner of a luxury watch blog very important that Swiss lost many high-profile contacts for your Adsense ads showing advertising replica watches.
So what should I do instead?
Now the question is about what you should do instead of Adsense. It is certainly a very important question. If I had done the same for 5 years, I imagine that would probably be doing five or ten times what I'm earning now.
The answer is the list of email subscribers I've said it before and I'll say it again: The money is in the mailing list. The most successful bloggers and marketers, all emphasize capture the maximum number of email subscribers. Look Problogger, Roberto Closed,? Alvaro Mendoza and the rest, make millions of dollars a year because they have long lists of email subscribers that are interested can send:
Promotions of new products every time you launch a new product can send an email or a series of emails designed for people interested and willing to buy. Closed Roberto did recently when it launched its new course. Even before its launch knew that there were about 150,000 people would see their new websites anuncio.Lanzamiento And if you want to expand your website or creating a new site related to the previous one? So instead of doing all the promotional work to get those first users, just send a few emails to your list. If relevant and is related, probably most of your subscribers will seguirán.Vender affiliate products I'm going to finish talking about the fact that email lists are a great opportunity to sell affiliate products to a highly targeted audience. You can earn between 40% and 80% recommending affiliate products by sending an email. Not even have to create the product, only promoting others.
The creation of a list of email subscribers is a long-term strategy that produces a massive dividends and permanent. Remember that visitors who clicked on an Adsense ad and generated 30 cents of profit? He could have subscribed to your list and I made you earn hundreds of dollars a year buying your products or affiliate products you promote.
And what do you think of this?
I would like to know your opinion on this matter. Have you stopped using Adsense and try something else more successful? Or do you think is the best Adsense revenue model and never stop using it? Please leave your comment and let me know.
For your success,
Fernando Amaro
